As I reflect on my journey at A-School, I am filled with immense gratitude for the nurturing environment that has shaped my path toward becoming a doctor and a servant of the community. I feel deeply honored to have been part of A-School’s pioneering years, witnessing its dedication to fostering academic excellence and whole-person development.
A-School’s unique approach to education, particularly its Project-based Learning, has left a lasting impact on me. I vividly recall collaborating with my team to design a leg massage device aimed at preventing deep vein thrombosis. Although the idea seemed ambitious at the time, it opened my eyes to the intersection of innovation and healthcare, fueling my passion for medicine. Beyond academics, A-School’s vibrant extracurricular activities—whether it was leading as a prefect, playing on the basketball team, or serving in the volunteer group—taught me invaluable lessons about teamwork, responsibility and compassion. The lifelong friendships I forged with teachers, and fellow A-Schoolers remain a source of strength and inspiration.
One of the most unforgettable experiences during my time at A-School was the excursion to Beijing, led by our beloved Chief Principal, Dr. Benjamin Chan, MH. We were captivated by the splendor of our nation’s history and culture, strengthening our pride as Chinese and igniting a passionate commitment to serve our community and motherland.
A-School equipped me with more than knowledge; it instilled in me a profound sense of duty to give back to society. The encouragement from teachers to explore new challenges, coupled with the inclusive environment, gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams. Today, as the Medical Officer in-charge at the Sha Tin Student Health Service Centre, and Vice-Chairperson of the Youth Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, I carry forward the values A-School instilled in me—service, leadership and a commitment to the well-being of Hong Kong and our nation.
Thank you, A-School, for being the foundation of my aspirations and for nurturing my passion to serve. On this 20th Anniversary, I wish A-School continued success in shaping future generations of dreamers and doers. To my fellow schoolmates, cherish your time here, pursue your goals with courage, and always strive to contribute to our community and motherland!
