People often see only the end results and assume I was “gifted” or “born with it”. However, what they don’t see are the trials and errors, the burnouts, and the steep learning curves I navigated to reach this point in my life. I firmly believe that nurture outweighs nature, which is why I am profoundly grateful for all the opportunities A-School has provided to help shape me into the person I am today.
A-School not only equipped me with essential soft skills for my future as a doctor, but it also helped me secure an unconditional offer from HKUMed by nominating me for the School Nomination Direct Admission Scheme. I had always brushed off the idea of studying medicine due to self-doubt, but my teachers encouraged me to see my potential. Their unwavering belief in me made all the difference, especially during moments when I struggled to believe in myself. I feel truly blessed to be surrounded by teachers and educators who believed in me, especially during times when I struggled to believe in myself. Their support has been instrumental in unleashing my hidden potential and motivating me to reach further in life.
No one is born with a clear vision of their future, but education provides us with the confidence and direction we need. This is precisely what A-School has been doing for the past two decades and will continue to do for many more years to come. The lessons I’ve learned and the relationships I’ve built here will stay with me as I embark on my journey in HKUMed.
