My three years at A-School were truly transformative. Before arriving, I had just navigated the move from Shenzhen to Hong Kong and adapted to a CMI school. Then came the shift to A-School’s EMI system. At the beginning, I could barely understand the textbooks and exam papers, and I didn’t yet know how to solve problems in a systematic way. A-School’s teachers met me with patience and high expectations, teaching me how to break down challenges and work through them.
We are shaped by our environment, and at A-School, I was fortunate to be surrounded by the best. Thanks to Ms. Liao’s arrangement, I joined Class D—a real family. My classmates were diligent, intelligent, and incredibly supportive. Their study habits became my model, and I even received the “Most Improved” award for two consecutive years—a reminder of both the challenges I faced and the progress I made.
I’ve always had a passion for art, and A-School provided me with the space and support to pursue it. Over three years with Mr. Law, I learned a complete creative process: writing, gathering and organizing references, developing concepts, creating, and presenting. I spent every spare moment in the Visual Gallery, collaborating with peers in a shared creative space—something rare in Hong Kong’s secondary school system.
A-School taught me how to learn, how to ask for help, how to build community, and how to keep creating. I carry these habits with gratitude, and they continue to guide me today.
